FISH
Fish is a very common meal in Japan.
The Japanese word for fish is Sakana.
To pronounce this correctly, let’s first break it down into syllables:
Sa-ka-na.
As you can see, you have three separate sounds.
The first sound, “sa” is pronounced like the “so” in the English word soccer.
The second sound, “ka”, is pronounced like the “co” in the English word copper.
The third sound, “na”, sounds like the “no” in the English word not.
Now put the sounds together. Keep repeating the word until you get more comfortable with it. Before you know it, you’ll have it!
SAKANA
