BEACH

With 18,486 miles (29,750 km) of coastline, Japan has quite a few fabulous beaches to visit.

The Japanese word for beach is Kaigan.

To pronounce this correctly, let’s first break it down into syllables:

Kai-gan.

As you can see, you have two separate sounds.

The first sound, “kai” is pronounced like the “ki” in the English word kite.

The second sound, “gan”, is pronounced similar to the English word gone.

Now put the sounds together. Keep repeating the word until  you get more comfortable with it. Before you know it, you’ll have it!

KAIGAN
