If you’re happy and you know it, you’ll want to be able to say it in Japanese!
The Japanese word for happy is Shiawase.
To pronounce this correctly, let’s first break it down into syllables:
Shi-a-wa-se.
As you can see, you have four separate sounds.
The first sound, “Shi” is pronounced the same as the English word she.
The second sound, “a” is pronounced like a in the word balloon.
The third sound, “wa” is pronounced like wa in the word water.
The fourth sound, “se” is pronounced like the English word say.
Now put all of the sounds together and gradually try to speed up your pronunciation of the entire word as you get more comfortable with it. Before you know it, you’ll have it!
